Sunday afternoon at the Crescent
For over 20 years Derick Bingham taught a Bible Class in Belfast - Tuesday Night at the Crescent.
Today the church was full again, this time for a wonderful service of thanksgiving for his life & work. A fitting tribute indeed to a wonderful man who died on 6th March (my post of 7th March refers).

Inspirational
It's Vancouver, but it's not skiercross. It's the paralympics & this is the slalom for visually handicapped. The skier in front is the guide, telling the competitor when to turn.

I'm glad I'm down here with my big big bottle.
The caption refers to the punchline of a local 1970s TV ad for C&C brown lemonade (for those of you who are too far away, or too young to remember).
The sculpture is an old fashioned bottle stopper, commemorating the glass & bottling businesses that used to be in the area.
Oh yes, brown lemonade... a peculiarly Northern Irish brew. It's exactly like ordinary "white" lemonade (or Sprite/7Up), but coloured brown.

Cheap advertising
I came across this chalk message in the centre of Belfast advertising a surprise screening in a local cinema.
I've worked it out, can you?

"Quite unremarkable", yet priceless.
This table & chairs were commissioned in 1912 for the private quarters of Captain Smith aboard his new charge. Unfortunately they were a couple of days late & missed the voyage.
They were taken to the tv programme "Antiques Roadshow" in 2009 where the expert valuer found the workmanship to be "quite unremarkable". However, due to its amazing history, a value couldn't be placed on the furniture.
Captain Smith's new charge was the RMS Titanic.
